The Position
Reporting to President and CEO, the
Vice President, Sales, is responsible for ensuring the public perception
of Tridon Communications as a leader in customer service remains
impeccable. He or she will do this by overseeing the coordination,
functional management and leadership of all sales activities at
Tridon. The incumbent is responsible for developing, executing and
evaluating annual targets and for ensuring that customer satisfaction
remains the primary goal of the company. He or she will also manage
and maintain key customer accounts and public relations, will oversee
all new business development opportunities and will assume direct
responsibility for contract management and negotiation. The Vice
President, Sales, will remain current with new industry and market
intelligence, and will ensure that this information is effectively
applied at Tridon. The position is also accountable for effective
team building amongst the sales staff, and for ensuring that team
member performance enables Tridon to meet or exceed all sales and
business development targets.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibility 1: Sales Management
- Developing an annual Sales Plan and setting monthly targets.
- Coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales Plan.
- Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of sales, methods,
costs and results.
- Reporting sales figures and strategies to the executive team
on a quarterly basis.
- Leading all contract negotiations.
Responsibility 2: Customer Service Management
- Directly managing major and developing client accounts, and
coordinating the management of all other accounts.
- Forming relationships with key account representatives and
other members of the community.
- Maintaining and growing a list of contacts with key government
and industry partners.
- Collecting customer feedback and market research.
- Planning and coordinating public affairs and communications
efforts to include public relations and community outreach.
- Representing Tridon at various community and/or business meetings
to promote the company.
- Promoting positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors
Responsibility 3: Industry and Market Intelligence
- Taking charge of all marketing related activities, including
researching and developing strategies and plans that identify
marketing opportunities, direct marketing and new project development.
- Keeping current with product offerings, as well as with new
products on the market.
- Ensuring knowledge of competitors and competitor strategies
is current and reported to the executive team.
- Effectively marketing Tridon Communications to customers and
potential customers.
Responsibility 4: Human Resource Management
- Organizing and leading a team of sales representatives.
- Managing the team in a way that promotes a positive attitude
about Tridon Communications.
- Setting targets for individual sales people, and for the team
as a whole.
- Monitoring the team's performance and motivating them to reach
targets.
- Recruiting and training sales staff.
Education and Experience
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have a proven track record with meeting or exceeding targets, and will have developed and executed tactical sales plans that include quotas and account objectives. The incumbent will have expert industry knowledge from his / her past experience, particularly with wireless communication equipment and applications, with a focus on trunked radio and wireless systems. He or she will have prior experience with human resource management, and will possess knowledge about how to motivate and manage a sales team.

Tridon's strategic plans and targets. The team member will have
the ability to monitor progress towards a goal and make adjustments
when necessary, including the ability to review and adjust plans
and multiple priorities on an ongoing basis and to set up procedures
for regular review of progress.
