Our client, the Seine River School Division (SRSD), providing K-Senior 4 and adult learning programs to approximately 3,600 students through 15 schools in southeastern Manitoba, is recognized for its leadership in providing relevant and progressive literacy, numeracy, life skills, character education and apprenticeship programs in English and French Immersion. SRSD invites applications from innovative, enthusiastic and involved educational leaders for the position of Chief Executive Officer. The individual selected will continue to build on the division’s strong foundation, in partnership with the nine-member Board of Trustees, the leadership group in central administration, and the school-based administrators as a team of professionals who serve both educators and learners.

The Position

Based in Lorette, Manitoba, the CEO is responsible for the effective administrative and educational leadership of the school division. This leadership role requires senior level administrative management skills including the ability to structure and maintain an environment in line with SRSD’s values and clearly communicate academic, strategic and operational expectations and priorities. The CEO must demonstrate through past leadership experience an ability to effectively lead the implementation of strategic plans and positively influence the environment and culture of the organization. The selected candidate must be accessible to all educational stakeholders and partners, be able to assess stakeholder needs and interests, and promote the clear understanding and integration of the organization’s educational philosophy in all aspects of the division’s programs and services.

Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in senior and school administration and a Masters’ degree in education or education administration, or equivalent, are required. Direct experience leading Immersion programs and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with an elected board and a wide-variety of educational stakeholders is required. Doctorate level education and working knowledge of both official languages are desired assets. The incumbent must have strong administrative management experience, the ability to travel and connect with stakeholders throughout the division, and an educational philosophy consistent with the core values of the division.
